Dear Colleague,
on behalf of the Executive Board of the Mediterranean Society for Reproductive Medicine, it’s a great pleasure to invite you to participate to the 8th Annual Meeting of the Society that will take place in Florence, Italy, on May 7-9, 2009.
An exciting scientific and social programme is now being defined and it will include some pre-congress courses with hands-on sessions, and plenary sessions especially dedicated to the impact that the most recent technology has on the quality of infertility treatment. Emphasis will be given to low invasive diagnostic techniques, IVF laboratory aspects, protocols for controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, and improvement of the quality of treatment. Monothematic pre-congress courses, symposia, round table discussions, sessions of oral and poster communications, will also be available.
Special sessions will be dedicated to educational activities for young doctors, who will have a privileged opportunity of meeting with colleagues and international leaders in the human reproduction field, thereby benefiting from the theoretical and practical training and from the presentation and evaluation of their studies. Young researchers’ best works will be rewarded with free registration and hotel accomodation for the 2010 Annual Meeting, as well as with MSRM free membership for the year 2009/2010.
The town of Florence, historically hospitable and generous, offers itself to the visitor’s eyes in all its renaissance brightness, with the opportunity to cover over a thousand years of Italian history through pictorial, architectonical and sculptural works of art. Florence’s beauties such as the Cathedral, the Giotto Tower, the Baptistry, the Uffizi Gallery, the Vasari Corridor, the Pitti Palace, the Strozzi Palace, the Signoria Square and the Palazzo Vecchio, the St. Maria Novella Church, the Bargello and many other attractions, will be accessible to all accompanying persons for the duration of the congress. Also, special appointments for sightseeing will be reserved for congress participants.
A simple walk through Florence reserves exciting surprises, like finding ancient bookstores or famous griffe showrooms, or little cafés where tasting an home-made chocolate cake or having a drink on a terrace overlooking the town, are only a little part of the attractiveness that Florence has to offer.
After that, if you’ll decide to sit down and eat in one of the many typical restaurants, you’ll enjoy the traditional Tuscan food and the “fiorentina steak”, paired with a strong Chianti wine or a more precious Brunello di Montalcino. Always with the cheerful Florentine spirit that will accompany you through your stay.
The congress will be held in the Congress Center located in the heart of Florence, close to the railway station and at an easy walking distance from all the hotels, allowing participant to live the town as well as easily access scientific sessions.
